QR Code Banana just grew up. You can now create a free account to save your QR codes — and if you need codes you can edit after you print them, Banana Pro is live today. Here is everything that changed, and what stayed exactly the same.
Free Accounts: A Home for Your QR Codes
Until now, every QR code you made lived only in your browser. Close the tab and it was gone. That is fine for a one-off, but painful if you make codes regularly.
So we added free accounts. Sign in once and you can:
- Save designs to your account — colors, frames, logos, and all
- Come back and re-download in SVG, PNG, or JPG anytime
- Pick up where you left off on any device
There is no password to remember. We use magic-link sign-in: enter your email, click the link we send, and you are in. New here? The same step creates your account.
Accounts are free, unlimited, and optional. The generator still works with no sign-in at all — accounts just give your codes somewhere to live.
Banana Pro: QR Codes You Can Change After You Print Them
The single most-requested feature since we launched is the one limitation of a static QR code: once it is printed, the destination is locked. Wrong link on 5,000 flyers? Reprint everything.
Banana Pro fixes that. For $5 a month, you get:
- Editable dynamic destinations — change where a QR code points without reprinting it. The code on paper stays the same; the link behind it is yours to update.
- Scan analytics and breakdowns — see how many times each code was scanned, when, and on what kind of device. Privacy-first: no cookies, no personal data.
- More styles, templates, and frames — an expanded design library for codes that match your brand.
Dynamic codes are perfect for menus, packaging, real estate signs, event posters, business cards — anything printed that might need to point somewhere new later.

Static QR Codes Are Still 100% Free — Forever
This is the important part. Nothing about the free product got worse.
Static QR codes encode their data directly in the pattern — there is no server cost per code, so we never need to charge for them. Unlimited static codes, every QR type, custom colors, high-res downloads, no watermark: all still free, exactly as before.
Banana Pro exists for the one thing static codes genuinely cannot do — change after printing. It is a real upgrade for people who need it, not a paywall bolted onto features that used to be free.
What About Privacy?
Privacy is the whole reason this site exists, so accounts were built to keep that promise:
- Your QR design still renders in your browser. Generating a code does not send your data anywhere.
- Your account is just an email. Sign-in is a magic link — no passwords, and no third-party login or social network sitting between you and your account. We keep only what an account needs: your email and the QR codes you choose to save.
- Pro analytics are aggregate, not personal. Scan stats count events and device types. No cookies, no IP profiles, no tracking pixels.
